The public is invited to the second annual “PACC The Arts Festival” from May 25 to May 27 at the Oxnard Performing Arts & Convention Center (The PACC), 800 Hobson Way, in Oxnard.
The weekend event features multicultural art and entertainment for guests of all ages. The theme is “Art By The People” or “Arte De La Gente,” expressing the the beauty of Oxnard through different mediums. Festival highlights include a visual arts hall, dance and music performance main stage, nonprofit exhibitors, youth area, holistic arts workshops, film fest, beer garden, food trucks, and a classic car display. The opening reception on Friday night will feature scintillating hors d'oeuvres by Chef Brandon Worrell and curated cocktails, as well as special performances by Oxnard’s youngest mariachi singer, Risitos de Oro (Kaylanie Berrera), a rare belly dance presentation from NEMA Studios, and lively sounds from Cuba with a set from Ventura County’s own Havana 5. Guests will have an opportunity to mingle with emerging and seasoned local artists, as well as to buy their works before the festival opens to the public Proceeds from a silent auction - featuring unique experiences, original art and more - benefit The PACC’s educational programming. Opening Reception Friday, May 25 | 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. | $35 per person Festival Saturday, May 26 | 11 a.m. to 5 p. m. Sunday, May 27 | noon to 4 p.m Free and open to the public. The event is a celebration of the visual artists, musicians, dancers, performers and venues that make up Oxnard’s diverse cultural and creative talent. Featured bands include: Irie Smile (reggae), Dezmo’s Blues (blues), Grupo Nuevo Esfuerzo (norteño), and The Centuries (rockabilly). Free parking is available on-site at Hobson Way and Seventh Street.
